100% Tannat – Sherman Ridge Vineyard, Shenandoah AVA Bottled on 12/10/22
The 2021 Briede Tannat beautifully expresses the bold, structured character of Tannat from the Shenandoah AVA. Carefully harvested and gently destemmed, this wine was fermented warm and aged in French oak for 10 months to balance the firm tannins with a touch of elegance.
On the nose, expect rich aromas of blueberry, black fruits, and dried fruits, accented by subtle toasted oak. The palate is concentrated and long, with a supple mid-palate and firm tannins that carry through to a refreshing, vibrant finish. Its bright acidity and depth make it both immediately appealing and age-worthy, with potential to evolve gracefully into 2030.
